Innovation studio is absolutely amazing. Not only do they have a vast array of tools, machines, and more to use, but they have staff willing and qualified to teach you how to use everything. Things like the quilting arm, kiln, production grade 3d printers, 3d scanners, full wood and metal shops, and more would cost a fortune for any hobbyist to buy on their own, but here you get access to all of it.
Its a bit pricey if you dont qualify for any discounts, but students faculty and alumni of UNL, students of other universities, and veterans all get nice discounts.
One thing to know going in is that for most tools and machines, even if you have experience, you have to schedule a training with staff before using the tool. This seems annoying at first, but with how many training sessions are scheduled and how willing the staff are to help with 1 on 1 sessions, it doesn't really get in the way. It makes a lot of sense from a liability standpoint.
